Why AIMS
The most exciting, lucrative, and fulfilling sales profession in the world is actively seeking qualified candidates. So why is it so hard for you to get in? Why does every job posting specify 3 - 5 years of orthopaedic or spine sales experience?
It's because the industry has been historically adverse to hiring outsiders. Between the terminology, anatomy, procedures, pathology, surgeon interactions, operating room protocol, products, and myriad other details, it simply takes too long for even the best sales professionals to come up to speed and be valuable additions. It's often easier for a company to just try to flip a competitive rep instead.
At least, it used to be. In the Fall of 2008, the American Institute of Medical Sales was founded by industry insiders to solve the largest problem in sales management - hiring good reps. By taking seasoned sales professionals from outside the medical device industry and providing them with intensive, hands-on training so that they act and sell like insiders, AIMS sought to open a whole new pool of potential candidates to the industry.
The success since then has been phenomenal. With over 110 placements in the first year of operations, AIMS has made a mark on the orthopaedic and spine world. The largest companies in the world regularly hire AIMS graduates, as well as a host of small, aggressive startups looking to drive innovative products into the marketplace.
